Every day I see the same tree. Some days I notice it but mostly it does not register or take my attention. Looking through my window the other day, I realised how wonderful this tree looked and that I had no idea what type of tree this is.
I immediately took a photograph. It was early evening and the sun was low and the blossom seemed to glow and the lines on the trunk had a form that reminded of old wrinkled skin.
The picture turned out fine and I decided to experiment with ways of seeing and to try and show the effect of time on the tree. So, while it is in bloom now, as the seasons pass on the bloom will go, autumn and winter will take away the beauty. Faded to pure white is my way of saying winter is coming, (where have I heard that before?), and will take away what spring and summer have given.
I’m not sure if this works but this is an ongoing process. Both my project and the tree are projects in progress. The tree will change over time as will my photographs of it. It’ll just take time and I photograph time!
I believe this is a Hawthorn tree but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong!
